Programs:

OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the ATI & NVIDIA Omega Drivers
These are video drivers created and intended for gamers! They are equal to or better than the orignal video drivers that came with your ATI or NVIDIA video vard, excep that they don't contain all the bloatware and all the useless, memory eating, system hogging digital crap that comes with the drivers. These drivers are made for the serious gamer who just wants to get the best video settings without dragging down the whole dman computer.

CCleaner
Crap Cleaner, shortened to CCLeaner, is a program that nobody should have to live without. Besides a whole bunch of great options to do everything from safely clean the Windows Registry up to total control over what programs start-up when Windows starts up, this program does exactly what it's name implies... It cleans up all the useless crap your system collects over time, such as browser cookies, browser cache files, and temporary system files. This program is great for keeping your computer a slick, fast moving machine. Oh, did I mention this is a free program? Though, if you like it, you may want to consider making a donation to the people who created this program (and a few more really kick-ass free programs.)

Defraggler
Made by the same people who make CCLeaner, this program is designed solely for defragging your computer's hard-drive. Nobody in their right mind uses the defrag program that comes built in to Windows. (Well, nobody that expects decent results, anyway.) Defragging your hard-drive on a regular basis is an absolute must for the computer gamer. And this program, small and light as it is, not only does the best job of any defrag program out there, but it does it for free!

EndItAll
This is just another great program for the gamer. With one click, you can instantly shut-down and close any and every non-essential program running on your system, thus, giving you the maximum amount of resources that your computer has for running almost any game. Even better, you can go in to the options and change how it treats any every program that might be running on your system. So, if there is any programs that you don't want to close, such as TeamSpeak or Ventrilo, you just select the option to ignore that program when you click the End-It-all button, and it will remember that decision every time you End-It-All.

The TweakGuides Tweaking Companion
With one version made for Windows XP and another made specifically for Windows Vista, this is the essential guide for any PC running windows. Whether you are a hard-core gamer or just like surfing the web, nothing else will teach you how simple (and important) it is to take care of your PC like the Tweaking Companion. Full of vital information, easy to follow examples, and a masters collection of links to various programs and tips, this guide will have your PC moving faster and cleaner than it was when it left the factory. (This guide is a MUST have for gamers.) Also, I speak from personal experience when I say that the free version of the guide is great, but if you purchase the premium version...
