Here's some things some of you may not know about game items called Commander Assets. Some of the Commander Assets are things you can see whether you are a Team Commander or not. Other things are only seen and used by the Team Commander. For instance, the ability of a Team Commander to be able to drop Supply Crates for the people on his team or to repair other assets is something you will not see unless you are a Team Commander. You might see the actual Supply Crates, but there is no way for you to see or interfere with the delivery of those Supply Crates. However, there are some other things you CAN both see and really screw-up if you want to. And when you start thinking that the Commander of the other team has these same assets, you might start thinking how much you'd like to go screw with that Commander and start taking away some of those Commander Assets.

Commander Assets that should concern you are:

Orbital Strike (Looks like three or four upright tubes. There are two of these. These do not appaear in Titan mode because the Titan serves as artillery on those maps.)
EMP Strike (A curved radar dish with a large ball on top.)
UAV (A large box with a small dome pearched on top of a cylinder.)
Area Scan (Big box with a large flat radar dish on top.)

Some important things to know about these Commander Assets are that if they are destroyed, they will not respawn or magically repair themselves. Once they are destroyed, they either need to be repaired by an Engineer or a Commander has to drop a Supply Crate on or next to the destroyed asset (the Supply Crate repairs Assets and vehicles just the same way it heals and resupplies your soldiers.) Now, imagine that someone joker sneaked over to the enemy's base and decided to just start destroying the enemy Commander's Assets... There will be three Commander Assets for him to destroy if you are playing in Titan Mode, but there will be four to destroy if you are playing in Conquest Mode. (The Orbital Strike is only available in Conquest Mode.)

Now, if that joker went and blew up all of the enemy Commander's Assets, the Commander either needs to send an Engineer to go fix them one at a time, or he has to drop a Supply Crate on each one, which means it will take a few minutes to fix each one, since he can only drop Supply Crates about once every minute or so. Plus, even after dropping a Supply Crate, it still takes time for the Supply Crate to repair the damaged Asset. So, if all of the Commander's Assets are destroyed and there are no Engineers around, you could keep the enemy Commander busy for almost ten minutes while he fixes stuff! That's time he's not focusing on the battle, not giving orders, not giving supplies to his own team, and that's also time that the enemy can't see your team with radar, etc. Oh yeah, plus you get points for blowing all that stuff up, too.

Which brings us to some other things you should know. The only way to destroy Commander Assets is to blow them up with RDX packs. And you need to have RDX unlocked for the Recon Class in order to get and use RDX. Now, in general, you can plan on using about three RDX packs to destroy a Commander Asset. Sometimes, if the asset is already partially damaged or if the game just feels generous (we all know the damn game has a mind of its own sometimes) then you can get away with only two RDX packs. But, personally, I just plan on using three so that I'm not disappointed. Now, the trick is to begin with only two and see if that does the trick. If not, then apply that third RDX pack and send that Commander Asset to the big repair shop in the sky.

Here would also be a good time to mention some strategy when it comes to blowing these things up. For one, your Recon Class kit will only include a total of five (5) RDX packs when you spawn. So, unless you are dragging a Support Class player along with you everywhere you go, then you are going to need a plan.

Well, one experience I had was probably my luckiest day on the battlefield. I had sneaked back to the enemy base and was back there blowing something to hell when I realized I was one RDX pack short. Ok, screw it... I figured on just camping back there and waiting for some enemy soldiers to spawn so I could snipe them while they had their back turned. And that's when the craziest thing happened. A Supply CrateSupply Crates will heal and re-supply you just like your own crates will) I instantly got a whole new load of RDX. Well, I promptly ran and blew up the UAV radar, ran across got re-supplied from that generous enemy Commander's Supply crate, went and blew up their EMPArea Scan radar that I had originally blown up to begin with. Now, of course, this also happened to blow up the Supply Crate sitting next to it. But who cares? I already blew up three things, so I settled back down and prepared to do some sniping if anyone spawned or showed up and tried to fix things. And what happened about a minute later? Another damn Supply Crate fell from the sky. It landed next to the Area ScanRDX, which I promptly blew up the radar with just a few seconds later. just came drifting down right next to the radar I had blown up. Well, no way I was going to pass this opportunity up. So, I ran to the crate (and since enemy machine, and finally came back (to get re-supplied, again!) and blew up the radar and it began to heal the radar. It also resupplied me with more

And so it went on for most of the round... This idiot just kept dropping Supply Crates, so I just kept getting more RDX and blowing up his machines again and again. He tried to outsmart me by dropping the crate on a different radar evertime, but I just kept running back and forth between the two and having my way with them. That day made for just one example of how you can improvise when out running around on your own and there are no Support Class players anywhere near.

Also, there are some other small tricks you can use to stetch out your RDX or to get the most bang for resources. For example, try placing two RDX packs on the bumper of one of the cars or jeeps at the enemy base and then pull the vehicle up so that the RDX is making contact with the both the radar and the vehicle, and then set off the RDX. That is one of the few times you can be sure to get away with using only two RDX packs to blow up something. The small vehicles work great for helping to create big explosions. Like everything else on the battlefield, it's just a matter of thinking on your feet!

One final note for anyone that might be curious, no, you cannot blow up the Missle Silo's on the maps that have them. You can neutralize them and you can capture them, but there is no way to blow them up. Trust me, I know. Also, you cannot blow up Commander Assets with tanks, aircraft, etc. The only thing that will work for that is the RDX packs (or a combination of RDX and a small vehicle, as mentioned above.)

Finally, it has been said elsewhere that it is possible to blow up Commander Assets with only TWO RDX packs, but only if they are placed in a certain spot. I have not tried any of these yet, but I wanted to mention it just in case anyone else wanted to try it out. If it works, please make a post and mention it so that the rest of us can keep on learning how things work.

These suggested methods were posted on the EA Forums a long time ago...

Each of the assets definitely has weak points. I'd like to know if anyone has insights, this is what I can tell so far.

The SAT Asset (Small Round Dish) takes 2 RDX packs if placed directly beneath the dish.
The UAV Asset (Large Disk) takes 2 RDX packs if placed on the area that looks like a control panel.
The EMP Asset (the little Box thing) takes 1 RDX pack if tucked between the upright tube and the panel like box beside it.

I did an experiment destroying the enemy equipment, and found that any of them can be destroyed with two packs:

Big square dish: two RDX packs on the "lightning bolt" panel.
Smaller, round dish: two RDX packs on the side, below the dish.
Three tubes: two RDX packs on the vents (on the side away from the tubes).
Fat pole with round ball: two RDX packs on the "control panel".

Sometimes it's just a simple matter of standing up, getting sniped, getting revived, standing up, getting sniped, getting revived, standing up, thinking better of it, crouching down, and getting killed by a well-aimed rocket...:PDT_Armataz_57:
